Looking back at my childhood, I can remember my very first "pin hole" camera. A five cent toy that was to be my introduction to the magical world of photography, long before my first real photos. Later as a teenager , I would spend many hours in my basement darkroom where I made simple black and white prints for my friends, all the while teaching myself basic photo skills. Skills I would later put to work while serving in the United States Navy.
It was soon after my Navy days, while on vacation, that I got my first introduction to scuba diving. Several years later, on a dive trip to Grand Cayman, was when the "spell was cast". The reefs and fish life were incredible. As I started to work my way up through the skill levels of diving, I got the idea that I wanted to share the beauty of the sea life that I was seeing around me. I started to buy underwater photographic equipment and taking underwater photography classes as I could afford them. With each dive trip and new location, I was more and more amazed and eager to share with my family and friends.
Now I want to share these images with you! The photos I am sharing with you on my web site Diver Art.com are only a taste of what you will see as I continue to update the site with new images. I hope you will enjoy these images and the beauty they represent as much as I enjoy bringing them to you. They are truly the beauty of the life undersea.
Armando
